Noticed any signs of critters? Like little furry woodland creatures?

It could be the plant kicking them off because their job is done. How long has this been going on?

Huh.
So, are they dropping after they've completed their bloom and begun curling up or during? Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to figure out how long they're on the plant before they drop off...

Basically they bloom, curl up, and drop off, but it doesn't look like the normal drop off to make a zuke... more like just sliced off.

I wonder if pollination is a problem when you have only one or two plants. Can you get squash out of a single plant with no close relatives?

Sounds like it's not that uncommon for the male blossoms to form first so they're around for cross pollination once the female flowers begin blooming. If there aren't any female flowers blooming then the male flowers drop off and the article mentioned it looking like omeone took a pair of scissors to them.

One of the organic gardening sites suggested hand pollinating your plants and seeing if that helped the situation. Might not have enough natural pollination going on?
