Stuck in the middle...I was the kid.

But momma had nothing to do with it.

Ah, if only feather duster collecting was essential in apocalyptic planning, because, after all, there's going to be a great need of them after the dust settles.

But no, instead, it's guns apocalypists want.

Feather dusters are so much more practical than guns though.

With a feather duster you can-

    - flatter rulers with gentle caresses
    - Do a feather dance thing (people who do such dances know what I'm trying to say, even if they snicker at my expression)
    - signal to mates in the distance to storm the castle
    - massage certain difficult to satisfy areas (not yours)
    - surrender (if you're waving a duster, they have to believe you, right?)
    - school your child if such you have
    - scratch that hard to reach itch
    - there must be more?

Feather dusters don't kill people. People kill people...

United States of America, Land of the free, and home of the brave.

Where this week parents lay to rest their slain children.

Where there's worries about thread titles on a local forum and plenty of time to grouse about Knox County-centric threads.

    God bless us every one.

Just watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas," which I love. I recognize that this is an overtly Christian animation, but I think the message of the cartoon is in Linus's simple statement after Charlie Brown puts one of the materialist puppy's ornaments on his sad little tree, it folds, and he declares what a loser he is. I'm not of any particular faith, so when Linus says, "I never thought this was a bad little tree; I just thought it needed some love," and wraps his blankie around it and then the other (really mean kids) come and sing outside Charlie Brown's house, it seems far more universal to me. Everyone needs a little love, all you need is love, yes?

Paperweights don't kill people. At least they don't do it on their own. And if that's their intent, they need lots of help to kill more than one person.

There is no reason to ban paperweights, and I think opposition to a paperweight ban is in order.

As I was posting something about this on the gun thread, I realized there are probably millions of young people who've never heard this song.

    Sad, that.

And some few who probably asked who Paul Simon is.
