WASHINGTON, D.C. House where Obama rents is hit by blaze

A Capitol Hill house where Sen. Barack Obama rents an apartment caught on fire Sunday, when a cross was burnt in the foyer. A spokesman said the Democratic presidential contender was in Chicago to celebrate Father's Day.

The fire appeared to be on the third floor of a townhouse in northeast Washington and probably was caused by a sheet wearing ghost, said Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs. A fire official called the blaze "relatively minor."
