i appologize if what i said sounded "insensitve" via message board....but how can you excuse hayduke and disapprove of my comment?
especially, when i was trying to diffuse a conflict between bryan and hayduke with humor ( ie: a long running joke)... the same humor used during the mcclung fires, i might add. they were far more serious/ dangerous than what happened at the WG. i am sympathetic to the tennants and buissness owners, but no need for you to take out and displace your tension and wrath on me...i didnt start the fire, afterall. i didnt purchase a buisness with inadequate sprinkler systems.... afterall.
so be sensitive all you want but dont give unwarranted red cubes....that is what i disapprove of!
i honestly wasn't trying to be malicious....thats not my style.

Just got back from the Grotto.

Water all over upstairs and downstairs. Furniture and art sitting out front on the patio.

The upstairs ceiling tiles collapsed from the water damage. The downstairs seemed very damp, but they had set up large fans already.

When I left, the water was still dripping through the ceiling downstairs, and they were waiting to see if the electrical equipment was ruined, so damage was still being assessed.

Depending on the final estimate of damage and their insurance agent, the Grotto will definitely(?) be closed for the next week, though there was optimistic hope of the downstairs being clean and performance-ready by the weekend of the 10th depending on the condition of the electrical equipment and the downstairs ceiling.

Again, damage is still being assessed.

There WILL(?) be a fundraiser. And I will be coming out of hiatus to perform magic at it. (Mebbe?)

I'm updating the Grotto website in a minute, or more likely after my Mom's visit to see Fox...

i really hope the damage isn't bad and that the recovery is a swift one.... i will donate to the cause, afterall...i am a regular patron of the WG and want to see it suceed as a buisness, just like i would love to see all of market square flourish.

    This pisses me off.

The Grotto is such a cool place. I hope the fire investigators get to the bottom of it, whatever it was, microwave or meth lab. Now the Grotto is jacked up because someone was a dumbass.

What is it with Knoxville and fire, I swear to Zod...

Dude chill. It was a crap microwave. I even own one. The Grotto has made plenty of money and were hopefully insured. They will be fine. Move along now.

A crap microwave is still careless. Careless leads to fire which leads to damages.

I hope the Grotto and the neighboring businesses are ok. As well as the residents of the apartments involved, even the people with the crap microwave, if that's indeed what it was. Which, from the sound of things, no one is hurt. That's terrific news.

    I hope everyone was insured.

"Move along now"? Learn some manners, guy.

short of a nuclear strike on downtown, any use of "this will kill downtown" is funny.

Where odd audio errata, ephemeralities, and nonsense occasionally collide with actual music for serious contemplation. Trouble is - I'm not saying what is which.

    Jesus fucking Christ!

No matter how this turns out I am here to announce that I will NOT be giving any of my business to the World Grotto. I will not be going there EVER. And I suggest every one else do the same.

(Hell, artists have enough trouble making it in this world without the kind of shit I'm talking about--but it ain't my place to say. )

    Fuck the World Grotto.
