    Default Shameless NON-self promotion...Sorta

There are 6 shopping days left until Tommy Womack plays a set at the Time Warp Tearoom. (The bestest acoustic room in town! Also bestest gingerbread latte')

He's a pretty amazing phenomenon to behold. As good as his new record is, I'd say it's still much more fun to be in the same room with him.

Mr. Pack and I will be deployed as "garnish" for the tunes.

This is the guy that wrote the amazing tome "Cheese Chronicles" about his days in the Bowling Green based "Government Cheese". Follwing that he was in what I consider one of the ONLY two rock bands from Nashville "The Biscuits" with the equally amazing Will Kimbrough from "Will and the Bushmen". (Anybody wanting to know about him should ask Zilla about a performance of "A Love Supreme" followed by "Oh Carol" by Chuck Berry)

    He's a master bullshi...Storyteller to boot.

P.S. The only other "real" rock band from Nashville was "Who Hit John?"

Hey, I went to college with that guy. Another WKU grad. I know I saw a Cheese show in the basement of the Sig Ep house that must have been one of their first ever. Thanks for the tip.

The Cheese Chronicles is a classic and should be read by any aspiring or practicing musician. The band Tommy was in in Nashville was the "Bizquits" not the "Biscuits" if memory serves me well.

I know a "full-grown man" who may take issue with that statement.

    Pick-up on it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that half-pint's from Hattiesburg. Let's be real here...

JT loaned me that book a lil while ago..fantastic stuff! it remains in my ..er.. 'sitting room', where i still peruse it's manna fer a few quick laughs and/or memory-jolts as a band, i never cared fer Govt Cheese that much, (Jason or Webb's stuff never grabbed me either ...{ducks/covers}) but man o man can that Tommy write! [insert Townsend riff]
'The Cheese Chronicles' izza great look inside a musicians daily grudge, with nice emphasis on every bands holy trinity: the garage, the van and the waffle house.

I love it in that book when he realizes his record....kind of.....sucks.

    This show won't.
