Where odd audio errata, ephemeralities, and nonsense occasionally collide with actual music for serious contemplation. Trouble is - I'm not saying what is which.
Green cube for you, man...that was funny.
"Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it"- George S. Halas
I used to live near there. Cumming is on the outskirts of NE Atlanta, for those of you who give a shiite.
‘They will never be like us’
Situated along Ga. 400 in Forsyth County is a Georgia Equality billboard depicting a gay firefighter, one of the gay group’s three billboards in the county. Neighboring business owners said that customers don’t mention the sign. After viewing a photo of the billboard provided by Southern Voice, comments where generally negative.
David Osmanovic of Cumming said the three Georgia Equality billboards in Forsyth County ‘shouldn’t bother us adults’ but was concerned about the impact of the ads on children who see them.
“Well, stuff like that shouldn’t bother us adults,” said David Osmanovic, 20, of Cumming. “But I have to wonder what kids will say. I don’t think this is the forum for this particular subject matter.”
Mike Lakey, 34 and a father of two, felt the billboard was a joke.
“So, we are supposed to believe that there are actually gay firemen?” he said. “I bet the other firemen don’t know, otherwise his ass would be kicked.”
“Why can’t gays just accept that they will never be like us,” said Annie Lott, 74 and a grandmother of six. “Let them live their lives, but they can’t expect to be like normal people.”
County commissioner reacts
After the billboards were unveiled, Bowen said he received an e-mail from David Richard, a member of the Forsyth County Commission, critical of Georgia Equality’s inclusion of the county in the ad campaign.
Richard said the group unjustly singled out Forsyth as intolerant and that the negative reactions the group received from Forsyth residents could come from anywhere.
“They singled out our county as well as a couple of others because they claim we are intolerant here, yet they have shown us no data, and I’ve requested the data from them, that would show them why they should pick us as being intolerant,” Richard said in an interview.
“We’ve had no incidences of any hate crimes. There’s been no gay bashing inside the county. There have been no assaults on gays here. There’s nothing to base their assertions on. They’re just stirring up trouble here,” he added.

Er...
OK. Some activist group sets out a bunch of billboards in the middle of suburbia, hoping to get a rise.
Nobody cares. They really don't. If you read the originating article (here, you cannot fail to notice that the "outrage" has been rather muted.
So some newspaper, noting that there's no news out there about these signs, decides to generate it? So they then ask a bunch of people with the obvious intent of culling out positive and apathetic responses in order to paint the county as behaving in a way that they even admit it's not.

I read the Southern Voice. Just laughing at the cumming first bit....forsythe is so conservative it's hard to believe anyone cummming first there...I saw irony between comming first and Forsyth especially in light of the strong anti gay laws on the books. Since i am not hetero, cumming first brings up different images. My thinking was more like wouldn't be me....I'm not allowed across the county line. (Which is exactly why none of the crimes occur and if they did, they would be covered up! "his ass would be kicked." )
