Farewell, but you will be
with me, you will go within
a drop of blood circulating in my veins
or outside, a kiss that burns my face
or a belt of fire at my waist.
Ok, never mind.
Yay!!!! We're dancing in the office.
Farewell, but you will be

Fuckin' Ay.
Let the rending of the garments begin!

When you do things right. people won't be sure that you've done anything at all.
THe opinion is here:

Besides the commissioners, the sheriff, the county clerk, the trustee, and the register of deeds are all ineligible for another term.
I'm curious as to the meaning of the final passage:
The terms of these public servants who are ineligible for another term do not, however, end with the filing of this opinion. Pursuant to article VII, section 5 of the Tennessee Constitution, every officer shall hold office until a successor is elected or appointed and qualified. In order to assure the continuous representation of all of the people of Knox County in local governmental affairs and as a means of preserving, without interruption, the continuation of essential governmental services, those county commissioners and state constitutional officers otherwise precluded from holding the offices to which they were recently elected may continue as de facto officers until their successors are named in accordance with law.
I assume this means that the remaining commissioners will appoint replacements for the ones that are gone. But what's the procedure for the other offices?

I'm curious too. "... until their successors are named in accordance with law." I guess it hinges on what the law says. If there is no other procedure for appointing replacements in the charter or constitution (which I doubt), we may be stuck with them till next election.Originally Posted by SnM
I wouldn't mind that so much. I kinda think there'll be chaos if all the administraive officers, with all the staffs attached them, have to be replaced at the drop of a hat.Originally Posted by Ripshod

I hope the charter authors were smart enough to anticipate the possibility that a newly elected officer might some day be ruled as disqualified, and set up an ordered way to go about the shit canning and replacement. I doubt that this amount of shit canning can go smoothly though.Originally Posted by SnM
Besides that, the cost of sanding and restaining the door frames to get out the claw marks will kill downtown.
