    Default Kicking the hobbit?

Even if old hobbits are hard to break, reviews of this one seem pretty uniform:

Oh, so that's how they're going to stretch The Hobbit into three movies.
They took his hair, Tommy. Jesus that's strange.

I read somewhere that this first installation only gets through Chapter 7.

Chapter 6, I heard on NPR yesterday. And the reivewer kind of liked it.

I was kinda excited to hear there would be a hobbit movie - but THREE of 'em? No way will I be watching. I think I'll just read it again instead.

Although I admit I hate to miss out on Martin Freeman's Bilbo, he of the fabulous Dr. Watson on PBS's Sherlock Holmes.

will likely give it a chance eventually. tbh, have always been way more into the other three LOTR books.

As I said elsewhere, we saw it and enjoyed it. I'm not sure why people are so seemingly put-off by it. It's padded, sure, but it's never dull. And Martin Freeman is great in it.

ah, good to hear it. have only heard negatives, which seemed a bit odd.
