Scott, we all know that you are the #1 Alabama booster.

What you say, goes in Tuscaloosa.

If that were the case I'd have a luxury box at Bryant-Denny. As it is, I watch the Tide on TV like just about everybody else.

No, scoring is up. That's not the same as good football.

I wasn't referring to scoring. I'm a Bama fan, which means I love good defense. I don't like to watch Oregon, Oklahoma State and all those other spread teams. The best game last year was the LSU-Bama game in the regular season -- no touchdowns scored, but it was a heck of a football game. I meant that the athletes are better than ever and make more spectacular plays on both sides of the ball. And that really has nothing to do with boosters (except that in some instances a kid will be in one uniform instead of another because of a little extra cash).

Tennessee's search: Is it down to Mike Gundy and Charlie Strong?
I think Phil Fulmer would disagree with you on that. If Strong is hired, first sign of trouble, on field or off the field, and the fact that he's black will be clearly pointed out in less than polite terms.

Hate to burst your bubble, but this town is still very racist.

No bubble to burst. Plenty of racism here and elsewhere, and I'm sure yammerers will yammer about race and much else. This is not new, nor news.

    Anecdote is datum, not data.
