Thread: Bell ringers?

    Default Bell ringers?

A few people have asked about Blab bell ringing as we have done the past few years outside of Mast. In the past some folks took issue with the Salvation Amy anti-gay stance on certain issues. Those have really blown up this year and I think the unspoken consensus was to just take a year off.

Hey, I'd ring a bell for some other good cause. Does the SA have the patent on bell ringing?

Well dang! I was just wondering about this the other day. While I respect their concern about the salvation army, I still enjoyed participating. Was looking forward to it this year too. I like Earl's adopt a highway too, although it will be harder to weave beer into the process.

Yeah. I'd like to do SOMETHING that's fun and for a good cause but I think I'm over Salvation Army's BS too. I know my son enjoyed the hell out of standing out there ringing the bell as did I, but.....can we set up a Blabnation Army bucket and hook up with a
the local Second Harvest or something like that and still stand out and ring a bell or something? At the very least stand around and drink in shifts while we collect money!
If I agree with you we'll both be wrong.

Where odd audio errata, ephemeralities, and nonsense occasionally collide with actual music for serious contemplation. Trouble is - I'm not saying what is which.

The only thing that comes to mind that covers all bases is to contact the Brewpub to see if they'd allow us to stand outside and collect food and money for Second harvest, Contact second harvest to verify if they'd be accepting of the gifts and where to deliver, mention it on your radio show, make a sign and have volunteers collect in shifts. Serveral with trucks could load and deliver, barring possible DUI convictions. Wouldn't even need bells. I would be happy to volunteer depending on the date as our weekends are rapidly filling up. I even have a small truck.
