    Default Rolling MetroFest 2012 Thread

Hey, I know a bunch of Blabbers either came to last year's 20Fest or played in it, so this seems like an ideal place for a rolling MetroFest 2012 thread. I'll keep it updated as we have more details. Feel free to ask questions, lobby for bands, complain, or otherwise participate.

Here are the details so far: A local music festival to celebrate Meto Pulse's 21st anniversary and raise money for the Joy of Music School, which provides free music lessons to disadvantaged children. It's scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28. We've got nine venues—90 Proof, Bistro at the Bijou, Boyd's Jig & Reel, Knoxville Visitors Center, Latitude 35, Pilot Light, Preservation Pub and its annex a couple of doors down, and the Square Room—and so far, 20+ bands. Those are:

    Kevin Abernathy Band
    Big Country's Empty Bottle
    Four Leaf Peat
    The French
    Hudson K
    Itchy and the Hater Tots
    The Johnson Swingtet
    Kelsey's Woods
    Tim Lee 3
    Lil Iffy
    The LoneTones
    Lost Holiday
    Jodie Manross
    Mito Band
    O Youth
Jack Rentfro and the Apocalypso Quartet
    Sage
    Sons
    Soulfinger
    Teenage Love
    Texas Tony and the Tornadoes
    Brian Waldschlager
    Westside Daredevils
    Yung Life

And, of course, thanks to our sponsors: Lagunitas Brewing Co., WUTK 90.3 FM, the Joy of Music School, WDVX 89.9 FM, and Visit Knoxville.

A note to Metrofest bookers: I've got an old band that's itching for an excuse to do one 25-year-later reunion show.
Maybe look us up next year.

Where odd audio errata, ephemeralities, and nonsense occasionally collide with actual music for serious contemplation. Trouble is - I'm not saying what is which.

Damn it. We had a blast last year but this year have to go out of town for a wedding.

If you burn up the guitar like with the French the other night, you'd better keep a fire extinguisher handy.
