If I agree with you we'll both be wrong.
"i tell this truth to you/ not out of spite or anger/ but simply 'cause it's true"
The country would be much better off if we all just started arguing about this instead:

* Every president is in the best physical and mental condition they were ever in throughout the course of their presidency. Fatal maladies have been cured, but any lifelong conditions or chronic illnesses (e.g. FDR’s polio) remain.
* The presidents are fighting in an ovular arena 287 feet long and 180 feet wide (the dimensions of the [1] Roman Colosseum). The floor is concrete. Assume that weather is not a factor.
* Each president has been given one standard-issue [2] Gerber LHR Combat Knife , the knife [3] presented to each graduate of the United States Army Special Forces Qualification Course. Assume the presidents have no training outside any combat experiences they may have had in their own lives.
* There is no penalty for avoiding combat for an extended period of time. Hiding and/or playing dead could be valid strategies, but there can be only one winner. The melee will go on as long as it needs to.
* FDR has been outfitted with a [4] Bound Plus H-Frame Power Wheelchair, and can travel at a maximum speed of around 11.5 MPH. The wheelchair has been customized so that he is holding his knife with his dominant hand. This is to compensate for his almost certain and immediate defeat in the face of an overwhelming disadvantage.
* Each president will be deposited in the arena regardless of their own will to fight, however, personal ethics, leadership ability, tactical expertise etc., should all be taken into account. Alliances are allowed.
sudo open the pod bay doors, HAL.
Timing is everything, and so are lies as far as the GOP is concerned. Good read, but it won't change the 'baggers' very small minds.

More at FactCheck.orgTAMPA, Fla. — Paul Ryan’s acceptance speech at the Republican convention contained several false claims and misleading statements. Delegates cheered as the vice presidential nominee:
Accused President Obama’s health care law of funneling money away from Medicare “at the expense of the elderly.” In fact, Medicare’s chief actuary says the law “substantially improves” the system’s finances, and Ryan himself has embraced the same savings.
Accused Obama of doing “exactly nothing” about recommendations of a bipartisan deficit commission — which Ryan himself helped scuttle.
Claimed the American people were “cut out” of stimulus spending. Actually, more than a quarter of all stimulus dollars went for tax relief for workers.
Faulted Obama for failing to deliver a 2008 campaign promise to keep a Wisconsin plant open. It closed less than a month before Obama took office.
Blamed Obama for the loss of a AAA credit rating for the U.S. Actually, Standard & Poor’s blamed the downgrade on the uncompromising stands of both Republicans and Democrats.
And when he wasn’t attacking Obama, Ryan was puffing up the record of his running mate, Mitt Romney, on taxes and unemployment.
If the only prayer you ever say in your whole life is "thank you," that would suffice. - Meister Eckhart
Doesn't matter, though. In this world of doubt and hard lines, there is no such thing as impartial fact checking. No matter how many notes FactCheck wants to put up saying that they undergo the same methodology for both parties doings, no GOP'er or Dem will use this reference to check their own rhetoric. They may reftute it as biased, dismiss it as another stupid internet blog, or whatever, but more than likely, will never look at it.
What Ryan said in Tampa is gospel to those who heard it, and there will be no refute. No one in that convention center, save perhaps some of the media, wrinkled their nose when he said those things and said "that doesn't sound quite right."
Next week the Dems will probably blindly agree to shaky truths, half truths, and twists of phrases as well.
How I wish for the arrival of some sort of intergalactic overlord that would benevolently enforce and encourage the use of objective truth in these situations. And I mean one that actually works and not some cloud walking bearded guy that we made up.
"It's a good thing there isn't a commandment in the Decalogue that simply says "Don't Be an Asshole," because a lot of American Christians would be in trouble right about now. And before you send me an email saying "I'm a Christian and we're not all like that," first write an email to a Christian you know who is like that."-J. Rowland

Here I go bitching and then this op-ed ends up on FOX:
