Yours has more info, but when I'm pitching a tent and know that a storm is coming, I use Weather Underground to help decide which direction the low end of my rain fly will face. Of course, having 3G helps and it isn't everywhere. Sometimes especially not in a place I'd like to pitch a tent.
The windmapper site is good for sailing. Mostly it tells you that Knoxville is not a good place for that, but today was an exception.
