I've given up expecting people to use "(our plans) panned out" and/or "...fell through" correctly. If you say these phrases, it's almost a certainty you are using the terms to mean exactly the opposite of what they actually mean.

This one's a puzzler. I've heard or used panned out only to mean it worked and fell through to mean it didn't, so I looked it up and sure enough there are no other definitions. Who the heck is using them wrong?

Pretty much any noun used as a verb should be banished. The one that's bugging me recently is "primary," as in Senator Frogwart better be careful or somebody will primary him.

Also, all media types should be forbidden to use the expression "some say."
