    Default attn: band flyer artists

What's an average price to pay an artist for doing a band flyer (similar to some of the stellar art we've seen posted on the Blab, for instance)?

depends on what you're looking for. just designing or designing and printing? screenprint or laser? paper or cardstock? color or monotone? illustrated? you get the point.

if you're asking "how much do we pay an artist to (strictly) design a flyer?" i'd say it mostly just depends on the skill level of the artist. i've never felt comfortable charging more than $50 for a flyer design, because i'm just okay at it (although i'll admit i've improved dramatically from when i first started). some artists can charge $50 an hour for flyer designs, and they are worth every penny. some artists should do it for free just for the practice.

y'know, are we talking frank kozik or are we talking franklin koepner, your wife's friend's son who's taken some night classes on adobe illustrator?
