I keep thinking of blab T-shirts with the Knox Blab sunsphere logo on the front chest (with maybe your blab name under it) and Gypsy's Pancake Sunsphere picture on the back. I'd buy one.
Shhh...they're in the works. Post with specifics will be forthcoming.

I'm going with a Heckle and Jeckle gay thing of some kind. First thing that popped in my head.

i think it's a crow admiring his own reflection. but it could have an ouroboros quality to it too.

I have this. It's six years old and a mess, but it shows some of my older portraits and a lot of magazine work. I don't think I have anything with just animal portraits.

Just found out this morning that Peta is going to use that Eight Belles painting at the Kentucky Derby.

wow! Congratulations! Eight Belles is beautiful and the white horse portrait is too. I would like to have a portrait of Bonnie (my late dog) and maybe my current one too.

Why would he do that? Because somebody was mean to him? He's a businessman.

I don't see that happening any time soon.

All the best to Dan Lacey, but I also think when somebody comes on here to promote himself (or herself), and in a way that is obviously styled to win new customers and support for their work, they should be able to stand criticism, even when it's harsh. Well, that is, if you think this is a discussion forum and not a fanboy chorus.

And I will point out that Raincrow got called out before he got blunt.

absolutely. and given the subject matter to be found in the lacey ouevre (talking angry fetuses and obama buttplugs, e.g.), i'm sure he's had detractors aplenty. i just think it's funny to go after him on a can't-paint/can't-draw line, as raincrow seemed to be, since a look at his stuff shows plenty of capable craftsmanship (i think the drawing in the faithmouse cartoons is especially good on a technical level). and i'm more than happy with the accuracy of the rendition of the sunsphere in the painting i commissioned:

but i didn't want that painting because i thought he could do a good sunsphere, which any decent commercial artist could do. i wanted it for the pancake. i like his stuff for the three w's -- wit, whimsy and weirdness. i think the obama/unicorn series is entertaining exactly because it's hard to tell just where it's coming from: satire, celebration, some uncertain combination of the two. it's funny, but also sort of sweet. and odd. i like odd.

but not all that's odd is any one person's cup of grog, which is fine. i just think raincrow, for once, is on the cranky-old-man-yelling-at-clouds side of the fence.

No, I was posted about a few times on the forum, and I received comments on my site from Knoxblabbers. I didn't come in out of the blue as a businessman to promote myself. No one has to buy anything, bid on anything. You make it sound like I'm selling timeshares.

Anyway, thanks for the support and the interest in my artwork. You guys have been great.

I think he's just starting a ruckus until he can figure out a way to work some cash out of it somehow. The man is the embodiment of entrepreneurial entertainment. (I had to look that up)
