Question De La Hoya VS. Pacquiao Tonight..........

Manny is gonna get all inside Oscar's head from the first round bell. He's never gonna allow Oscar to get off.Oscar just doesn't have the speed to match Pacquiao. They will both be in excellent condition for sure. But De La Hoya has been wanting to retire for years, and Manny's gonna give him the big send off by knock out in the 9th/10th round.
They are both gentlemen and sportsmen, but there is something very humble about the nature of Pacquiao. He is a great one and it's his time.Oscar is a great one but his times up.He has everyone imaginable in camp with him,but tonite he's gonna be all alone in the ring with Pac-Man.

    Advantages;
Golden Boy-experience in big fights,trainers/corner,size,and he's fighting at his natural weight.

Pac-Man-hand speed, mobility, youth, relentless combonations, and that he's probably pound for pound the best fighter on earth.just sooo busy it's rediculous!

plus they are both from the ghetto, but it's been a long time since oscar was there,he's a mega-rich buisenessman now.manny's a god to his people, like a king, but his belly still has hunger pangs,it ain't ever been full yet.

whoever wins it'll be a fun one to watch, wish i could.

Oscar has serious power and accuracy and he has a very good chin. Manny may out work him and get him in trouble late but even now its going to be real hard to "stop" Oscar. Manny would be ill advised to open up and slug with Oscar.

And I think he is too smart, experienced and confident for anybody to get inside his head.

Manny on points is my call but I'm not very confident about it. Judges historically love to give fights to Oscar no matter what happens. And a rematch between these 2 or a trilogy would be worth trillions. Yeah thats a factor in todays boxing.

I think Oscar is a douchebag outside the ring and it pains me to praise him and I would love to see Manny run right through him but Oscar is always hyper-prepared.

Look at that! B-hop, Shane, Hatton, Marqez and even ole Angie Dundee is just off camera. What ever happened to the introduction of old pugs and famous people just before the bell rings? One more reason boxing lost most of its appeal to the masses.

"I guarantee you Oscar will win this fight by knockout," said Hopkins. "Anybody that disagrees with me, I'll be outside."

i agree with a lot of what you said fc,but not all.

oscar is hyper-ready,147.9lbs before thanxgiv dinner.runnin 10+ miles without feelin it.sparring for 12+ rnds effortlessly.they are fightin at 147.
no doubt that oscar is ready.but...

oscar hasn't fought at 147 for a decade, since quartey.he will lose a lil pwer comin down in weight.

manny is comin up 10 pounds which will improve his power.

oscar likes to use that stiff left jab and wicked left hook to keep agressive fighters off of him while he backs up flatfooted.he goes from the head down to the body to try and bring ones defence down and open up the headshots.but he likes to set up to do it.flatfooted.oscar is hard to beat fighting from his toes, but he don't do it with agressive opponants.oscar has a huge reach advantage, and a bit of a hieghth too.but pacquiao is a south paw.he will come inside to nulify that stiff left jab.he has too.or oscar will ko him with a left hook.he will come inside and fight till oscar fights back the by the time they exchange manny will be back out again.i think manny will swell oscars left eye if not cut it.by the 10th oscar will be behind in points and will have to try to brawl and he'll get caught by manny's handspeed.but if it goes the distance no way oscar will out score him.oscar has to hurt him early.i have never doubted oscars heart even though he is a pompass prick but gentlemanly.but i think he wants to retire anyway deep inside.but with oscar he has proven anything can happen.

manny is so busy that i just think oscars age combined w/less power will be the story.but i in no way gaurentee this outcome.it's just my guess.i still say manny in 10.who knows.be a fight tho and that i'll bet on!

Dammit you got me saying more nice things about the Golden Girl. Oscars D is fantastic. He hides behind his shoulders well and rarely exposes his chin and he keeps his damm hands up which is evidently hard to do for most fighters. And I believe he can end the fight with one good shot to the head or body. I dont think he or anybody can out point Pacman but Oscar has had many fights handed to him that he diddnt deserve. Not his fault by the way.

Also I think Oscar is at that point in his career that he might not be able to get off faster than a young superfast guy like Pacman but his counter punches will be damm fast and intuitive.

My bottom line is I want Manny to win but I'm not sure he can handle Oscar's bombs.

you are exactly right, they needed to clean up the sport to some degree, but they went way too far.just like julianni did with new york.boxing has lost it's character as far as it's ceramony and pageantry and nostalgia.it used to be part seedy part unparalelled heroism.now its lost its mystique.i like mma type stuff ok but boxings history is so beautiful that it will always be my fav.
