Thread: have the terrorists won yet?

Question have the terrorists won yet?

so, now that the country is financially ruined, fighting 2 separate Vietnams, and going through the dog and pony show re the election featuring an 80 year old troll and a vastly inexperienced glamour man who's only going to win because our retarded 2 party system shows him as the lesser of 2 evils, can we agree that the terrorists have won, not with a singular event 7 years ago, but the ensuing clusterfuck that has resulted?

i resent the implication that we are incapable of clusterfucking things up on our own. we don't need any help from any dadgum terrorists. this might be a clusterfuck, but it's an american clusterfuck by god. stand up and salute.

it sort of seems like we did it to ourselves or at the very least let dub-yah/dick do it to us. a few years ago when i needed to fly somewhere, was when i first realized the terrorist had indeed won.

hell, i knew the terrorists had won when i had to start going through airports after 9/11. the knoxville city/county building's terrified managers just put an exclamation point on america's capitulation to vague, witless fears.

    frightened little people ...

i've never had an issue at airports post 9/11, in which i've flown 12-15 times, including overseas. and i've looked like the dirtiest of hippies for most of that time.

i had a friend who returned from cuba and made a similar comment about airports there. i'll bet you are also perfectly safe in north korean airports.

i suppose i remember a braver, more courageous time when you could pick up your ticket and walk onto the plane without having all your luggage xrayed and searched by frightened americans who are so thoroughly terrorized they will lock you up if you so much as joke about it.

you know, back when we thought nuclear winter was only a button press away and americans carried on anyway, and understood the difference between freedom and convenience.

i suppose people can get used to anything and eventually they just forget to question its legitimacy or broader implications.
