Thread: Nels Cline at the Bijou

    Default Nels Cline at the Bijou

    Friday, July 18

    The extraordinarily talented and creative guitarist, best known these days for his work with Wilco, but with dozens of fine CDs under his own name...

    With his band...the Nels Cline Singers...guitar, bass, and drums...there are no vocalists.

    Great stuff.

    awww screw WilcoHeadLips! - none o' them is fit to shine Mr Cline's shoes!
    (no, ...really)

    i imagine this show will tear a hole in the very fabric of spacetime ... Nels is just absolutely astoundingly astounding; one of the Guitars greatest champions (See also 'The Giant Pin', 'Destroy all!' and other Cline Masterworks)

    i wish like hell i could go but Lou and EC ate our ticket-money fer the year ...shame, i'd trade that Lou show for Niles inna heartbeat!
    * damn me ! damn brain ! dammit ! *

    ANYWAYs

    if you are :

    not broke
    breathing
    able to move
    able to hear

    you NEED to see this show.

    REALLY!
    The man (and band) are that good , and then some.

    let me reiterate :

    Nels Cline IS ' all that and a bag o' chips '

    you need to see him

    go

    GO!

    and enjoy the wonderment fer me
    ;~)

    ...did i mention how good Nels is?

    Tickets are only $16.50 (plus whatever the service charges are...less at the TN/Bijou box office).

    Agree that it should be a great one...

    i don't think i ever linked my interview with nels (i'm not sure if that website is really using it with permission or not, but i don't care and at this point no depression probably doesn't care much either). that's boiled down from about 9,000 words or so of conversation, he was a fun guy to talk to.

    (edit: also, that guy appears to have retyped the whole interview. i admire his initiative, but i take no responsibility for his typos.)

    thanks. i love this line especially:

    once the music starts I’m kind of like a little moron in the sandbox. It’s just a situation where everything’s okay once there’s sound around me.
