Hey James! Please let me know if Lassie is barking all day. He is getting into the fenced section of the yard below the house and I can't figure out how. Barking dogs make me crazy! Especially on beautiful days when the windows should be open! Will continue to look for his escape hatch when I get home from work. Sorry if he is annoying. If it is non stop, call me. I'll come home. Seriously! Disturbing the peace is unacceptable! Sappho! 332-9998 is my cell.

Look at the "Tax Cuts for Wealthy" thread. I need your help organizing a guerilla theatre protest. Name your price. Will do community service or whatever. We need to inspire people to talk back to power, and it's as easy as a stroll on the square.

Tell you what James I will put the original speakers in it and sell you the amp for 600$ then I can sell the new speakers and get my other 200$. I do have a guy in Louisville ky who is trying to make it happen for the full 950$ and if I get confirmation from him today or this evening then I will have to sell to him. You will get superior tonal response from the upgraded speakers but if you are not going to be running a ton of od and fuzz pedals then you will be perfectly fine. If that's good let me know.

james the best I could go is 750$. I just bought an amp for 800$ and I need to offset that price. You still get all the speakers and its a hell of a deal. These go for 1200$ new right now and the current issue bassman are total junk. You get all tube, speaker upgrade and all analog and broke in. The only thing missing in that deal would be a transformer upgrade and then you got a whole other level of amp. I hope you can come up with 750$ because I would love to sell it to you. Do you have any gear that will craigslist for 100$ or so?

Why I think Japan will come out of this better than anybody else would

by James on 03-19-2011 at 06:28 PM
It's because they aren't fat.
I work at a Japanese auto part company around dozens of them, many having lived here a long time and not once have I ever seen a fat Japanese. I look around the room at work and I only see one or two Americans who aren't at least pudgy.

How can it bee that the most consumptive country in the world, second only to the US and now China in GDP, not be fat? Is it because they prefer fish to bacon? Is it because they are generally more disciplined

Why String Theory is right but the physicists will never see it

by James on 02-20-2011 at 02:32 PM
A little background. String Theory is the idea that particles aren't actually particles but strings vibrating in any one of several (11) dimensions at any one moment. It solves really tough mathematical problems that show up when you try to make sense of quantum physics.

Here's the problem. Look at the following three dimensional drawing:

This is one electron, but

Where am I at?

Nobody will probably ever read this. which is just like the rest of my life.
I have spent almost all of my life, at least since I was about 25 in a state of frustration because I realized something important about reality and I can't communicate it. And here's the thing, if everyone realized this "thing" that I saw in 1975 all our problems, global warming, poverty, sickness, everything, would disappear, I swear to God.

Hey look, if you've read this far then I have
