I have a sick love of puns. As a matter of fact, I once submitted ten different puns to a contest for pun of the year. Unfortunately, when it came time to name a winner no pun in ten did. The mushroom one has always been one of my favorites.

i know exactly what you mean about the neocon and how it played out. i'd rather ignore (or more specifically, not engage), but not if it means we are left with those kind of results. scary stuff.
