Similes are our friends, great inventions...like sliced bread and as sweet as a Krispy Kreme Doughnut .

Lyrics are a fine place for them to be found....

Tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999-

Life's like an hourglass glued to the table-

Like a virgin, touched for the very first time-

Do you have a favorite? And, like -what would it be?

(Or is my migraine medicine doing the talking here and I'm like totally screwed in the head right now? I can take it- someone please let me know. Thanks.)

Now there's a look in your eyes
Like black holes in the sky.

Beware, I bear grudges,
Like lonely high court judges.

Every whisper
Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool

And then of course there's "Like a rock" from the truck commercials which I have heard so many times I probably could not forget if 80% of my brain was removed.

You should see me the night each week I take a sedative before my shot...<that's> some serious fun-and I always get the munchies.

I wish to see your lips
Parting like the waves of silence and mystery

ok...I'm going to bed now- you're safe.

Probably ...
never should have even opened my mouth.
I had no right to say what anything
meant to you.
I'm still trying
to figure out
what it all
meant to me -

i suppose this wouldn't really be complete without....

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

I, do solemnly promise to remove and hide my wireless card prior to taking any medications- prescribed and/or otherwise used.
I will never post under the influence again.

I, personally, found this to be the most thought provoking thread I've read in a while. :)

Like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives.

I like that one, too, Skillet.

I've always wondered why Chevy wanted to be "like Iraq," I mean, wouldn't make more sense for them to be like Iran?

Maybe the soul can still be pure,
I'd like to think that's true,
I know there's somethin' there for sure,
but I ain't got a clue

It's been too long R.B.

but I ain't got a clue

It's been too long R.B.
A bitter wind blows through the country
A hard rain falls upon the sea
If terror comes without a warning
There must be something we don't see
What fire begets this fire
Like torches thrown into the straw?
If no one asks then no one answers
That's how every empire falls

Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house were born
Into this world were thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out on loan
Riders on the storm

Run rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down, it's time to start another one

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.

Bless you, Georgia, for letting go the edge of the pool for a moment!
