Who's going to this show next month? I really really want to go, but I'm not sure if I can get my hubby to go. The line-up is fantastic and the price is right too. If I can't get him to go anyone want to carpool? I would say split the cost of a hotel room, but I shouldn't go there;) Katie are you and Jon going?? Derek? Rob? I know Jodie is going, but she won't be sober by the time we reach Harriman.

I would like to see it, too, but my parent's live there, and I wouldn't stay overnight anyway. My mom (82) wants to go! She figures it is her last chance to see a rock concert.

Well, we have been attendees to Feasts with the Beasts since it started 10 years ago so I just assumed that's what we were doing this year on that date. Now, it appears, that the stars are aligning to hit Mucklewain instead. I won't know for sure for a few more weeks as the date draws near. If we DO go, we're going to be going on Saturday morning and camping. I think you can talk hubby into going. It sounds like a blast. Once I figure out what's up with us, I'll shoot you a message.

Yeah that's right you told me that already. I hope we can all go.
I really, really hope to go, but honestly, between buying a house, selling a house, planning a wedding, school starting and National Pony Finals all in that month, budgets and time may be stretched to the limit.
I **do**, however, want to be sure we get some Mucklewain coverage on WBIR, so I need to get in touch with Hank, post haste...
I know several other blabbers that are going (myself included), but I think we're going up Friday night to make a "land grab", and camping Saturday, too.

I believe HiTop is going to make it too, but considering we have a radio show on Friday night, we won't be able to grab any land that evening. Maybe HankIV will want to do a phone-in interview to push the show and tell us that there's still plenty of land to grab.

Seeing how it's just down the road a bit....I don't foresee me NOT getting to go in the near future.

Stay tuned to WUTK for MUCH MUCH more Mucklefest info, including the one Joey Lonzo coming into the studio very soon for a live interview that has the pre-billing of "Mucklewain 101...all you need to know about is and then some." We'll be doing a big ol' radio special with much much music by artists playing, interviews, giving away tickets, including VIP passes, and more. We will also be on site doing live remote broadcasts the day of, and live updates at least two or three days out, leading up to the gates opening. So stay tuned.

I won't be sober by the time we reach Harriman! Leila and I are definitely going. Not sure about the samping thing yet. Not sure if Leila can go a whole night without seeing Will. But we are definitely going. I'll let you know as I learn more about what we are doing.

So, uh, you'll be riding with me and Leila? ;)

In a way he wants to go, but right now the only thing on his mind is keeping his job and not spending money on frivolous things. He may be looking for employment in six months, which really really sucks!!

Frivolous? Might as well live it up. Oh, and start looking for work now just to see what's out there. I've been laid off twice. I will always be looking at other jobs just so I know what's going on in the local job market.

Looks like Sir Mucklewain may just be stopping by WUTK this Thursday afternoon for a live interview, and basically a Q&A session. SO, if you have questions, etc about the upcoming fest, shoot them to me here, or at wutk@utk.edu. Stay tuned for exact airtime, etc. Much obliged.

I'd love to go to Mucklewain...I'm graduating on August 10, so this would be the perfect way to enjoy my "NEW FREEDOM"...of course, my dad's taking me to PARADISE ISLAND for my graduation present, so if I have to choose I think that I'll go there instead!!!!

We have to be frivolous, because we don't have a money buffer. I know I know it's stupid, but it's hard to save money. He has been with the company for 14 years, so it's going to be hard on him. We'll see how things go for the show.

I know, I was just giving you a hard time. In reality, you would be "frivolous" if you DID spend the money on the tix, therefore, tell Andy you're going. :)

I'm not buy tickets...I'm gonna float down the river and sneak in navy seal style.
You'll know me, I'll be the one in all black being chased by Hank and his crew.
Don't bother Hank, I'll bring my own zipties. :P

Why must the planets plot against me? We have RB and Jason Wilbur (John Prine's long time guitar player) at the Corner on Sun., Aug. 20th.
hmmmm..might have to Muckle my Wain on Fr. and Sat. and wind down w/ Mr. Morris. Sun. evening. Line-up looks great! Wonder if PBR stock'll go up a few points that weekend.
p.s.
High Score this Fri.
Microdahts this Sat.

Roane County residents should get a "homey" ticket price, don't ya think?

Please don't think I'm arguing with you, Tess. I read the above as light-hearted and friendly.
I'm just a-thinking:
Perhaps like you, I get weary of reading on the blab about how such and such an expensive show is actually *not.* So please know that I'm of necessity a total tightwad, and an even bigger live-music freak who misses 99% of great concerts because of $$$.
Even so I took the coinjar to the green machine for Mucklewain, just like I did for WDVX's wonderful Camperfest the 2 years I went to it. I mean, where the Christ else is something like this going to blow up? I fully expect to get more than my money's worth, but I paid $30+ a ticket partly as a gesture of belief in the enterprise. At last year's Hottfest, an equally worthy indigenous blowout, I donated 3x the cover charge because I could.
From the other side, I think that short of charging nothing at all, charging anything less than Mucklewain's tix prices for an event of its kind is foolish.
So I'd love to know: is the ticket price keeping anyone away from Mucklewain the way it's kept me away from... shows I can't afford (and wont name)?

Nope. But I live way beyond my means anyway so it doesn't count.
The ticket price is great to me. I wouldn't think twice paying $30.00, hell I would pay $30.00 just to see Scott Miller:)

Anyone staying in a hotel?
FYI - Caney Creek Inn used to be the Holiday Inn. New Holiday Inn being built just a few hundred yards down the road behind the Cancun restaruant. "Might" be completed by Mucklewain.
