this tuesday will bring the weird for sure - subgeniuses of knoxville, are you reading? take a moment and find out about DAN DEACON for me - absurdist electronic composer VERY VERY reminiscent of Raymond Scott and Bruce Haack, a beautiful electro nerd that leaves the chin-scratcher ambient noise to the goateed and will instead put a huge smile on your face. go to his website and check out hits like Hey Let's Go For a Ride, My Own Face is F Word, and Ohio. his cover of Mr. Big Stuff is dynamite. he's accompanied by ECSTATIC SUNSHINE a chopped up bam-pow two guitar duo that will balance the beeps with rock. those TENDERHOOKS that you know and love so well will be the icing on the cake for this night of wonder. and if that's not enough (and it probably is- but!) brooklyn filmmaker JIMMY ROCHE (read about him on dan deacon's site) will show his surreal short films in between sets to keep even the most bankrupt attention span filled to the brim with fascination. through being cool? we'll see you tuesday.
