Well, here we go. We need a bassist. We have one probably for the next two months or until we can work someone new in. Shag our bassist is to the point to where his band Cornbread Blues is scheduling The same nights We are and vice versa-I knew it would come to this. Plus I guess They get better shows, more pay and really, I think Shaggy is more into the music they play. He's a Hippy for Hop's sake, I give him a lot of credit for sticking around as long as he did. The Reason he became a musician is eric Clapton, his other faves are the Doors, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and stuff like Wide Spead Panic. He wants to be in a jam band and he is. The Cornbread Blues band Rock. They're a great band and I wish them nothing but the best.
We aren't in a position to where it's like AAAAAAAGGGGG BASS NOW HELP PLEASE yet. I mean the sooner the better, we have some good shows set up for August and Sept is already coming in.
I have a bass amp place to Practice
we have a van for touring, PA, great Opportunities coming. A movie that has been being filmed for over a year. It's tentatively scheduled to be released in
the spring of '07. That's not what this is about though.
If you're interested in working hard but having a blast you should get in touch with us. We would be interested in someone to just fill in until we can find a perminant player too.
It's really a low pressure no expectations type deal, don't even have to bring your own equipment. just let me know on here or Call Me at Christopher-577-3629

Well, I tried in West Palm and succeeded to put together a band Called Whiskey Dick which later became Liquid Penis. It was fun but we we're a little pop punk type deal and we kept getting shows with these huge longhaired tattood Metal bands That had much better equiptment and were just more powerful,
better bands. We had a song called the girl in my room. It was based on a true story of my friend going to prison because some girl he could barely stand chose his house to O.D. in. He didn't even like needles. Alot of people liked that one and a few others but FLA was metal this was 92 or 93 and had
little tolerance for anything else.
By for the day, Practice time hope to see people WED.

That is my favorite blab line of the day.

Thanks Chris.

I'll ask my bass player, Chris Zuhr, if he knows of anyone. He plays with three bands, so he must have some idea of who's looking for work.

It took us a while to find a bass player who could hang with us. I totally feel your pain and will keep my ear to the ground!

Aha! Just remembered... I got an email at the 520 site the other day from a bass player who is thinking of moving to Knoxville and is looking for work. I've copied his info here in case you want to follow up. I haven't had time to check out his credentials, though. Forgive me if he's a freak--just thought I'd pass this along:

Hi Sara,

I wanted to thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate your time effort.

I'm sort of preliminarily scoping out the music scene in Knoxville as I may be relocating from California. I was curious if you can make a living doing music back there? Are there clubs where people go to to hear live cover music?

Vocals and bass are my main instrument although, I do play guitar and keys, as well.

If you are interested, here are a couple of websites of bands that I am currently performing with around Southern California:

www.inthefleshrocks.com (This is a Blondie Tribute Band)
www.badkittyproject.com (This is a Modern to Classic Rock Cover Band)
www.theshoutmusic.com (This is a band I sub with here and there)

I hope this helps!

Likewise, if you play Charleston again.

Hmm, could be a theme tour - stump the bass player in towns across America.

Boy, that guy, the bass player from the above post, seems ideally suited for The Dirty Works. So you'd better hurry up and contact him because I hear that the Southern Country Band, Spellbound, and Bobby Smith's Good Tyme Band are all looking for a bassist. You'd better act fast before that guy gets snatched by another act.

That said, I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to be in The Dirty Works. Do you guys have a regular gig at The Ramada Inn or AMVETS? Does The Dirty Works play weddings?

Of that guy's three bands, I think the Bad Kitty Project looked like the most challenging and avant garde. Then again, The Shout looked kinda punk. They have that "skatedad" look the kids are going for these days. Isn't The Dirty Works a punk band? Do you guys play Blink 182 and Good Charlotte covers?

Hey, I also know a keyboard player who also plays sax and can tell jokes between sets that are real ribticklers. He does a Steve Martin set and a Robin Williams. He might be a good addition to the Dirty Works.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
