Moot Point presents ...

opening for The Bearded ...

Randall Brown
of Quartjar
(not the Indian fighter)

Thursday evening, July 13, at the Corner Lounge

In which I speak of myself in the third person, for effect:

The inimitable, and bearded, Mr. Brown will present "solo" versions of legendary Quartjar songs and other rare gems. He will accompany himself on electrified guitar. The Bearded will then present a full-band extravaganza or varied musical instrumentation and facial hair.

I know that rascally Randall Brown was setting this up as a bearded clam joke.

Come on, people. There's only so much I can do. Don't make me do it. I'm tired. The lights are growing dim. I'm cold. I'm down to my last cartridge. Is that pipes I hear? Cannae ye hear the pipes laddie? Are the Scottish Borderers coming to our rescue?

What are you getting at, Jack?

Honestly, Jack. I've never made a dirty joke--I wouldn't even know how (picture me innocently batting my eyes). I'll leave that up to you!

Is that what "Girl From Ipanema" is about?

I suggest everyone go hear the Sara Schwabe and Her Yankee Jass Band Saturday at Oodles and request that song.

And then request it at Randall's and the Bearded's show this coming Thursday at the Corner. Which sounds like a great double bill at the best juke joint in town. I mean, if the Gourds can do "Gin and Juice"....

Take a look at the first u-tube window. Just hit the arrow. And wait for the punch line.

The first version is up. Pretty much what Ryan designed. Lots of tweaks to come, including a working calendar page. Looks... different.

It sure was fun to open for the Bearded last night and get to hear them play. They are great musicians with good humor and talented pickin' skills. Nice harmonies, too.

A thoroughly delightful evening to the credit of Mr Brown y Los Beardos. That Morelock feller is GI Banjo Jesus with kung-fu grip. And that TJ, why, they really ought to move him up to first chair in the Knoxville Symphony's jug section. Special guest performer Jack Herrenan was the surprise of the evening though. I recommend everyone pay attention if you see his name on the bill.

The honor would be mine, sir. I'll make up some more stuff if you want. It might not be true, but, I'd mean it.
