I have to say, JohnnyB, that it would be a tough call to decide which of you is the most easygoing and down-to-earth. We talked about all sorts of stuff - him getting sober, Marilyn Manson dissing him for getting saved ("Yeah, whatever. I can still blow him off the stage," Cooper says of Mr. Manson), his '75 Knoxville concert when his snake disappeared into the plumbing of the Hyatt Regency only to pop up two weeks later in Charlie Pride's hotel bathroom. ("I never asked Charlie if he was sitting on the toilet at the time or at the sink shaving when he happened to look over and see it coming out or what," Cooper told me.)

I talked to Alice myself a couple of weeks ago -- coming in next Thursday's MP. Alice is always a gentleman and a good interview. I interviewed him in, um, the fall of 2000 (?) when he played at the Homer Hamilton Theater (county fair site). He put on a great show then and I'm sure next week at the Tennessee will be even better.

I was talking to Rus about 6 weeks ago and he was telling me about how seeing Alice's guillotine schtick scared him to death as a kid, circa '74. (I was at that show too.) Isn't that cute, the idea of a 12-ish Rus Harper getting scared at an Alice Cooper concert. Fuck yeah.

Well, I should save my august memories of Alice for the article, right?

Go to this concert and take your brats if you have 'em. Your snot-nosed little shits deserve to see the real deal. And I hope it warps them for life, like it did Rus.
