EDIT: Fixed link to AznV, which wasn't working for some reason.
After many, many people told me to, I finally watched it yesterday (thanks to the wonders of http://aznv.tv/en/).
Wow.
Very good, very poignant, occasionally very funny, occasionally very disturbing (the bowling alley scene makes Blue Velvet look like Twin Peaks), and definitely very entertaining.
Was a little bit letdown that the underlying message was so obvious and simple by the end of the film, and that the plot was abstracted to the point where there really aren't any answers (but it still made a lot more sense than Lost Highway or Mulholland Drive).
But overall, mega thumbs up. I can't figure out if the official American release is called "Suicide Circle" or "Suicide Club", but the latter makes much more sense.

I dunno, I thought Mulholland Drive's message was pretty overt - In Hollywood, you can't trust anybody, everybody is replaceable and nobody will miss you when you're gone.

Oh, sure, the message was overt, but the actual events?

I liked that movie quite a bit---especially the coughing childs voice over the phone, and the weird kid band.
I really like asian movies--the last one I saw was "Circles." unfortunately when that one was done I turned to the person I was with and apologized for making them watch it.
as far as david lynch movies go, at least the last three or so---there is always that one line in the movie that explains the whole movie, you just gotta really watch for it.

really enjoyed the beginning(especially the train station),it's idea of pop culture(dangers of monkey see, monkey do), and the rolls of skin in the bag...but it tended to drag after the initial shocks, especially towards the end when it descends into one red herring after another...there will be releases of his other work after suicide club later this year(he did porno up to suicide)...not in the class of tell me something, cure, audition, tetsuo,or uzumaki...suicide kept my interest long enough to check out his other stuff...

Well, I know that you're generally a fan of gore/shock cinema, so I'm not really surprised.
Another good one: Korean horror flick also on AznV called "Whispering Corridor 4: Voice". More on the creepy ghost story side of things than the gore/shock, but very well-directed and acted.

dammit, and there i was hoping to surprise you jack...i shall up the efforts...
i knew of the "girl-school" trilogy, but haven't untill now heard of a fourth...i'll have to check it out...the first two(whispering and memento mori) are pretty good little ghost flicks, worth a watch...there's a third one, but the name of it escapes me right now...
the eye,ju-on(t.v. version),ghost actress(it would be interesting to see if that's on AznV,because it took me a long time to find a vhs copy),pulse, marebito(to an extent),nang nak,and spider forest are some others from the far east worth a watch...
