I've decided to follow this dang silly show for a season. It's on again tomorrow night.

I know, I know.... it's another 'commerical band' that sold out and all that.

Here's what I wanna know.

Do any of you guys want to follow this show, and compare notes about the contestants?

Heck, it's something to DO.

It might actually be a fun set of threads for folks here. A coupla guys and girls watching Rockstar, and then comparing notes about who is a decent vocalist, and who is slaw. Who is solid and who sucks.

We've got a bunch of musicians right here on this forum. It might be interesting for me to read what you guys think of them. And they got some chicks that can sing, too! The so called band Supernova said they are willing to get a chick front 'man' for the band, and atleast the guys in the band have had some success in the past.

Anyways, I looked up one of the contestants on the internet. Her name is Jenny Galt. Here's some of her links. Check out what she sings, and see if you think she's decent. She's a very goodlooking 24 year old, but some of the other girls probably sang better. Check these links out and listen to what she sounds like. The show is on tomorrow night again at NINE EASTERN ON CBS.

I was actually more intrigued by "Rockstar" than "American Idol," but it's difficult to actively schedule TV time. Also, I'm not so enamored of the Tommy Lee sound. But if I happen to catch an episode, I'll try to weigh in on the procedings.

I caught most of it last night. Awful! Where did they find these people? This is the best they could do. I think they found people that are bad just fro entertainment value. It was so bad I couldn't change the channel. I think there was maybe 2 people I thought were decent but nothing to write home about. I will do everything in my power to NOT watch tath garbage again. Daave Navarro is such a tool and now I have to say the Jason Newsted has lost any credibility he may have gained by quitting Metallica when they became so lame. Do yourself a favor and avoid this show at all costs.

What D said. Except I will say that I will watch again for the train-wreck factor and to see if Tommy has any new tats.

It's a definite train wreck from what I briefly witessed last night. When I saw that it was on I hit record, and through the glorious power of DVR, was able to FF through the bad parts (most of the show). Dear God, that guy doing Roxanne was almost enough to make me want to kick in the tv. I will be checking back in on it. I mean, it DOES has Tommy Lee in it and it's bound to be more entertaining than his foray into marching band. As far as credibilty goes, no one can sink any lower than that wanker Dave Navarro. What a tool.

At least they have a better songlist than AI. We loved the scarey girl with the hood doing Nirvana.
SuperNova looked more interested in the ladies in the audience than the
stage, can't blame them after witnessing the Roxanne butchering.
We watched it last year a bit and felt it was a set-up from the beginning
but it beats smoke filled Karaoke bars.

I watched it for about 45 seconds.

Hell no.

I prefer seeing how far all the magicians, jugglers and quick-change artists make it on America's Got Talent.

I don't know, I'm still recovering from a post-Supergroup-finale hangover. Supergroup was the best show on television this year. I'm not kidding. I still can't believe that Sebastian Bach has now reached levels of un-rock 'n' rollness to where he's filling Jack Daniel's bottles with tea and doing "shots" onstage.

And Dave Navarro needs to put a fucking shirt on. Now.

I've had all the episodes in my DVR for weeks. That whole Scot Ian worship
thing with Nugent kind of disgusted me.(Not a big fan of the MCMM) Was it really that good?

to me those shows are just another reason that rock has become another boring part of the system. I remember when rockstars were cool. That is what drew me into it. If I was a kid today there would be very little going on in rock that would appeal to me.

Dave navarro is a total tool and if you go back and listen to those Janes Addiction records all he ever does is play along with the bassplayer on about every song---the original bassplayer was great and it was like night and day musically when he left.
