Cleo wishes she were smaller sometimes so she could play with Gracie and with the other Chihuahua, Mae. (Mae is 2 and is Gracie's wrestling partner.)

Min-Pins and other toy dogs become extremely adept at getting out from underfoot. . . it's funny watching them run around if you so much look like you're going to take a step.

Beautiful little girl, Ripshod. I'm sure she's the joy of your life.

Daredrummer, you're a parent after our own heart: we, too, are raising what somebody on another board noted as a rise in the number of "geek hotties": pretty girls who genuinely like science fiction and other "non-girly" things (with Sophie it's superheros, especially the Fantastic Four).

I'll be damned if I'm gonna raise a kid that'll be interested in some boring jock! ;) Of course, since the score is Life: 2,432, JohnT: 3, we'll see how that goes.

Somebody around here needs to get busy and have some baby girls, so 20 years from now all of us old people can keep ourselves busy playing Blab Matchmaker for the likes of Baby Fluffy, MRW Jr., Zoller Mayshark, and some of the other teeny Blabbers that have been born in recent years. We seem to have a bunch more cute boy babies and toddlers around then girls at present...

Well, it's pretty exhausting. But we don't have a frame of reference so, it's hard to compare (and we have a family friend who had quads - yes, quads - so we try not to complain too much...)

We knew pretty much from the get-go, within a couple weeks. We did invitro, so there was a lot of monitoring very early on. (The couple with quads also did invitro - three embryos implanted, one of whch split - so their quads include a set of identical twins).

It's interesting how, with the advent of invitro and fertility drugs, multiples have become much more common.

I would've responded:

"Now that you know how immature kids act in regards to punishment and school, and that you've demonstrated to me that you know the difference between maturity and immaturity, I now expect you to serve out your punishment with the full knowledge that I'll be looking for stuff like this.

Secondly, don't ever come to me with the threat that 'If you don't let me play games, I'll stop being responsible for my schoolwork' again, do you understand me young man? You want to condemn yourself to a life of ignorance and poverty because of some game you wanted to play, that's your concern... after you leave my house."

But then, I'm tough. ;)

I guess I should clarify on this thread, I'm a new aunt, not a new mom.
But my brother, the new dad, does live with me, so I'm sure there will be times I'm not getting sleep if he needs help. But for now, he's staying with his girlfriend helping take care of Lake. Either way, I'm pretty proud of this lil' one!
