Or I will have to blow Comcast up. Every rainstorm I loose channels for the duration. Missed yhe Derby because of a quick shower They have checked the line-seems digital has its flaws. Any one else have these troubles?

I don't have cable, but I do get a digital signal. Every time the wind blows, a car drives by, the dogs walk across the floor, well just about everything makes the signal screw up. I have an antenna, but it seems useless. I always end up changing the channel to a 'regular' broadcast.

same here. If I cross my legs in the chair - signal freezes. Reach into the bag of cheetos - signal freezes. Children playing in the next room change places in the room - signal freezes.

I haven't switched yet. This is really not making me hopeful considering I am completely surrounded by trees.

If they were only allowed out of the basement for disciplining, you wouldn't have that problem.

Yes, it does need to stop raining. I'm starting to mildew up here.

For the cable question, it sounds like you've got someplace along the line where water gets in where it ought not go. Could be a connection somehwere, or it could be a hole in the shielding on the cable. Your challenge would be to get a Comcast technician to show up when it's actually raining.

Meantime, you could go outside the house and look at the cable as it runs from your house out to wherever it goes. If you see any obvious damage to the line, like exposed, frayed wire, that could be it. Check wherever there are connections where one piece of wire ends and connects to the next one. Make sure the connections are tight and don't look corroded.

Yer gonna need an antenna. With the digital hooked up, I get five, count 'em, five channels! A vast improvement over my current one channel reception. Unfortunately, all of them have church-related programming! I can't get any local channels at all.

be happy you are getting rain. we have to water our lawns with pee, or as they call it down here, "reclaimed".

We've had the digital box/antenna hookup since late last year and it seems that only in the past few weeks everything has gone to shite. We invested in another antenna to replace the 20-year old one, and it seems to have actually gotten worse. All the channels are sort of snowy and you have to get up and adjust the antenna if you are going between CBS, WMAK (the bad 70's reruns channel), and anything else. The conspriracy theorist in me is wondering if this is a deliberate potting down of the digital signal to encourage subscriptions...

lml and I were discussing this last night, and she said it wouldn't make a difference if you had a new digital TV. Guess I'll be making our Netflix subscription a lot more worthwhile.

If you're talking about "tiling," or where the picture freezes and looks pixelly, I had that happen too. It was because I had three TVs plus a cable modem. If the signal is going to too many places, tiling will occur, especially on HD channels. They hooked up an amplifier to my incoming cable which boosts the signal - that fixed my problem.

that tiling happens to me during bad weather, and only have one set. Am going to start using those channels I cannot get during rain as powerball number, mybe get lucky .
